Middle River is a small Cape Breton community located on the Cabot Trail approximately 12 miles west of Baddeck.The community of Middle River extends from the outlet on St. Patrick’s Channel to the headwaters of Middle River with settlementson both sides of the river. It’s northern boundary on thewest ide of the Riveris the Inverness CountyLine at Lake O’ Law.The community extends a distance of approximately 14 miles or 22kms.
The community being spread over a wide area is made up of several smaller communities.- Upper Middle River (East & West Side) which includes Gold Brook Area; Middle River Centre (West Side); Garry; Middle River(Church Section, East Side); Hunter’s Mountain;Lower Middle River( Yankee Line) and West Middle River( West Side)
